About Me
Since qualifying over 20 years ago with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise in treating a wide range of neurological conditions. I also have a strong understanding of the impact that both cognitive and psychological difficulties can have on physical ability.
I worked in the NHS for over 15 years specialising in neurological rehabilitation across both hospital and community settings before setting up my own private practice.
I always strive to deliver the most effective patient care and am dedicated to ongoing clinical development, including the latest advances in neurological rehabilitation. I have completed Advanced Bobath training and many other post graduate courses including Pilates, Yoga and Hydrotherapy for neurological patients.
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, an active member of ACPIN (Association of Physiotherapists interested in Neurology), registered with HCPC and Enhanced DBS certified.
My Approach
I am a positive and caring physiotherapist who quite simply loves her job.
I am passionate about helping people to make the best recovery possible after an acute neurological event or ensuring those with long term conditions are able to remain as active and independent as possible.
I will take time to listen and understand what is important to you. From there we can work together to tailor a treatment programme that enables you to achieve your goals.
I naturally adopt a holistic approach understanding how your general health and well-being will also impact on your neurological condition.
Services
My practice allows me to support you in a responsive way without delay.
I provide specialist neurological physiotherapy assessment and treatment in your own home, including care homes. I will complete a comprehensive assessment to identify the problems you have with your movement and recommend a treatment plan to enable you to realise your full potential and make meaningful change to your quality of life.
I offer a flexible treatment approach depending upon your needs; whether it be a course of treatment to improve or maintain your current mobility, planned reviews, advice whilst you are waiting for NHS treatment or information on how you can self-manage your condition with confidence.
If desired, I can carry out treatment sessions at your local gym or swimming pool to provide a tailored exercise programme.
I have strong links with local NHS neurological rehabilitation teams. I am very happy to work collaboratively with all those who may be involved in your care. I also have extensive knowledge of local neurological charity groups and specialist group exercise classes.
I am able to recommend and refer you on to other private Neurological Specialists including Occupational therapists, Speech and Language therapists and Clinical Psychologists.
In addition I also carry out general rehabilitation following illness, hospital stay, surgery and falls.
I am based in Watford but can travel across Hertfordshire and NW London.
